Rava Rotti / Sooji Rotti / Semolina Rotti


Rava rotti is a south Indian dish, especially Karnataka dish. Rava Rotti can be prepared for breakfast and even for evening tea time. This can be prepare without any pre-planning like soaking or fermenting. This is an instant dish. The dough should be like chapati dough consistency. It is prepared by patting on plastic sheet or skillet. This roti can be prepared adding any veggies or just plain. Tastes good with any Chutney or Sambar or Ghee.. 

Ingredients:
Rava / Semolina- 2 Cups
Jeera / Cumin seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Hing / Asafoetida - 1 Pinch
Onion - 1 Small
Grated Carrot - 1/2 Cup
Tomato - 1/2
Green Chilly - 2
Corriander Leaves - Handful 
Sour Curd - 2 Tsp
Grated Coconut - 1/2 Cup
Salt adjust to taste
Water sufficient to prepare Dough
Oil to roast

Method:

1. In a bowl mix all the ingredients except oil to the consistency of chapati dough.                                                                                                                                                


2. Sprinkle few drops of oil on tawa, take a handful of dough, place it in the centre of the tawa and start spreading evenly with the tip of the finger. Sprinkle some oil on it.

3. Cook it in a medium flame.
4. Flip the side when it turns golden brown.
5. Roast it on both the sides.
6 Serve hot Rava Rotti with any Chutney or Sambar or Ghee.

  2. which semolina did u use sindhu? bansi rave, saNNa rave or chiroti rave?
